Create a challenge or join one
A challenge is a set of public conditions many people can run. How to create one, how to sign up, how to enter a sub and how to leave.
Reviewed on
A challenge is not a task with an audience. It is a different thing: published conditions that many people can run at once, each at their own pace, validating each other.
Creating a challenge
From Challenges → New challenge:
- Challenge title and description — the conditions, clearly, because people who have never spoken to you will read them.
- For me (self-challenge) or Impose on a sub.
- Validating Dom — optional, who endorses completion.
- Check cadence — Single check, daily or weekly.
- End date.
- Public — whether it appears in the showcase for anyone to join.
You can also duplicate an existing challenge: the app tells you that you are duplicating and lets you adjust it before creating.
Joining a challenge
The Showcase lists public challenges. On each one:
- Follow — you see it in your feed and can validate participants’ checks.
- Sign up — you become a runner: you commit to the same conditions.
- Leave — you step out whenever you want.
If a challenge touches your declared limits, you will see the warning: this challenge brushes your limits: you can leave whenever you want and there is no penalty. That is information, not a block — unless it crosses a hard limit, which is.
Entering a sub (Dom)
«Enter a sub» signs up someone you have a bond with. His limits apply: the app warns you if the challenge crosses a hard limit and will not let you impose it.
Following progress
Under My challenges you have the Active and Finished ones (with See archived). Each challenge shows its runners, its followers, the checks published and the comments.
The final states are Completed or Not completed, and the validating Dom can close it with «Mark as completed» or «Mark as not completed».
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a task and a challenge?
A task is private and one to one. A challenge is public: conditions that many people can run at once, with visible tracking and a leaderboard.
Can I leave a challenge?
Yes, with «Leave». And if a challenge touches your limits, the app says so explicitly and reminds you that you can leave at any time with no penalty.
Can my Dom enter me into a challenge?
Yes, with «Enter a sub», within your declared limits. A challenge crossing one of your hard limits cannot be imposed.
What does «following» a challenge mean?
Following it without running it: you see it in your feed and can validate the checks of those taking part.
