Explore: how to find people
How the profile grid is ordered, what filters exist, what the badges mean and how «who has seen you» works.
Reviewed on
Explore is the profile grid. It is not a catalogue in arrival order: it sorts by relevance.
What weighs in the order
- Compatibility — what you and the other person rated in My practices, with the right polarity (what one gives and the other receives).
- Reputation.
- Recent activity.
- Proximity, if you have set a location.
Profiles with DomBound+ stand out with a + and a crimson glow.
The filters
- Role — Dom, sub, switch.
- Type — In person, Cyber or Both.
- Availability — who is looking right now: Free sub, Dom searching.
- Searching only — leaves out anyone who is not.
- Preferences — by specific practices.
- Community — by identity: leather, bear, pup, uniform…
- Who visited me.
Advanced filters (role, practices, proximity) are DomBound+; the free plan sees a limited number of profiles. The detail is on Pricing.
What you see on a profile
Opening one: their description, their preferences, their hard limits, their reputation (if shown), their honours, their public connections and their gallery.
From there you can invite to circle, propose a bond, write (via a request), share their profile or block/report.
Since the profile sheet was reworked, profiles also show age and attributes (height, weight, build, position, orientation, circumstances, experience) and their communities, if they filled them in. That is what makes the identity filter useful.
Proximity
For proximity to work you need a location set in My account: GPS — compared on the server and never shared — or a manual city. Detail in location and check-ins.
One tip that saves time
Compatibility is calculated from what you declare. A profile with no rated practices is not «mysterious»: it is invisible to matching. Ten minutes in My practices completely changes what you see and who sees you.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I always see the same profiles?
The order combines compatibility, reputation, activity and proximity. If your profile is incomplete or you have not rated practices, there is little to compare against: fill in «My practices» and it will change.
What does the «+» and the crimson glow mean?
That the profile has DomBound+. It stands out in the grid.
How do I know if someone is looking?
Available profiles are marked «Free sub» or «Dom searching». You can filter by «Searching only».
Can I see who visited my profile?
You see how many people have seen you. Seeing who is a DomBound+ feature.
