Which punishments you accept: your maximum severity

With no severity limit set, no Dom can punish you. How it is set, what it means, and what an off-catalogue punishment is.

Reviewed on

On DomBound punishments are not a Dom’s power: they are a sub’s concession. By default nobody can punish you, and you are the one who opens that door — with a ceiling.

Setting your maximum severity

In your account, under «Punishments I accept»:

Set the maximum punishment severity you accept. With no value, no Dom can give you punishments. You can change it whenever you want.

Leave it at «I do not accept» and your Dom will see that this sub does not accept punishments: he must set his maximum severity in his account, and the feature is blocked for him. There is no way around it.

Whatever you set is a ceiling: when creating a punishment, your Dom sees the maximum he can use with you and cannot exceed it.

Accepting or refusing a punishment

When a punishment arrives, you will see the warning:

You can refuse it now with no consequences. If you accept, you are bound to complete it: you will no longer be able to ask for clemency.

That is a real decision point, not a formality. Once accepted, it is flagged as no clemency: you accepted it when you could have refused.

Off-catalogue punishments

Your Dom can mark a punishment as off-catalogue. That means exactly this:

An off-catalogue punishment is not compulsory: the sub can refuse with no consequences. If he completes it, he receives the points you set.

It is the route for whatever does not fit the foreseen types, and it comes with reinforced consent by default.

Clemency

Completing punishments earns points. With them you can ask for clemency on an active punishment: the points are spent and your Dom decides to grant or deny.

Points give you the right to ask for a pardon, not to get one.

Just Culture

All of this follows a principle that runs through the platform: punishments are proportionate, they have a route back, and they exist to learn, not to take revenge. A punishment that cannot be completed, or imposed to humiliate without prior agreement, is material for a report.

Frequently asked questions

I haven't touched anything. Can I be punished?

No. If you have not set a maximum severity, no Dom can impose punishments on you. The default is «I do not accept».

Can I lower it or remove it later?

Yes, whenever you want. Like every consent on the platform, it is revocable.

What is an «off-catalogue» punishment?

One that falls outside what is foreseen. It is not compulsory: you can refuse with no consequences. If you choose to complete it, you receive the points your Dom set.

If I accept a punishment, can I ask for clemency afterwards?

No. If you are offered it with the option to refuse and you accept, you are bound to complete it and clemency is off the table. The app warns you before you accept.
