Owner powers: message supervision and communication lockdown
The platform's two most intrusive tools, how they are authorised, which warnings are always visible, and why withdrawing them rotates the key.
Reviewed on
The Owner/Slave bond unlocks DomBound’s two most serious tools. Both touch the other person’s privacy, which is why they are built on the same logic: expressly authorised, always visible, and revocable.
Message supervision
Lets the Owner read his slave’s conversations. Read only.
How it is authorised (slave)
In your chat settings, switch on «Allow my Owner’s supervision». Before you confirm, the app tells you exactly what you are granting:
Your Owner will be able to read your conversations while it is active (you will always see a notice). What he reads during that time cannot be undone, even if you withdraw it afterwards.
How it is activated (Owner)
In the conversation, «Supervise messages» → «Activate». The warning you see is equally explicit: you are going to read his conversations from now, read-only, both parties will see a notice, and it is a serious intrusion into his privacy.
If he has not enabled it, you will see that this slave has not enabled supervision in his settings. There is no way to force it.
While it is active
- The slave sees «Messages supervised by [Owner]» in the conversation.
- The person he is talking to sees it too. Third parties are not spied on without being told.
- The Owner sees «You are supervising this conversation: you can read, not write».
- Everything is consulted from the Supervision section.
When it is withdrawn
Either party can withdraw it. And something important happens: the key is rotated. If it is granted again later, access starts from that new moment; what happened in between is not recovered.
Communication lockdown
Temporarily suspends the slave’s ability to write to third parties.
- The Owner imposes it from the conversation: «Lock down communication», choosing the hours.
- The slave sees: You are under a communication lockdown. You can read, but only write to your Owner. With the end time.
- Anyone trying to talk to him sees that he is under a communication lockdown imposed by [Owner] and until when — with the Owner’s name linked. Responsibility has a face.
- The Owner can lift the lockdown early.
It also exists as a control punishment («App restriction»), with two levels: chats with third parties only, or total, leaving just the route to the Owner with «Talk to [Owner]».
The rule that crosses both
Neither tool can be turned against the safety exits. Emergency release stays available, so do the emergency block and the report, and emergency alerts are always sent.
An Owner who demands supervision as a condition for continuing, or who uses lockdown to isolate you from people who worry about you, is doing exactly what the platform goes after.
Frequently asked questions
Can my Owner read my chats without my knowing?
No. Supervision requires you to enable it, and while it is active both parties see a permanent notice in the conversation. There is no silent mode.
If I enable it, can he read what came before?
No. He only sees from the moment he activates it. And if you withdraw it and later grant it again, he sees only from that new moment — never what came before.
Can he write in my conversations?
No. Supervision is read-only: he sees, he does not take part.
During a lockdown, am I completely cut off?
No. You can read everything and you can write to your Owner. What is suspended is writing to third parties, and there is a route to him with «Talk to…».
Can any Dom lock me down?
No. It is a power of the Owner/Slave bond, not of a normal Dom/Sub bond, and it is a DomBound+ feature.
