Photos in chat: view-once, permanent and the private gallery

Sending a photo
When you attach a photo in chat, the app asks one question: Does your face appear in this photo?
- Yes — the photo will be view-once: seen once, then flagged as photo already viewed.
- No — the photo stays permanent in the conversation.
You can also mark it as sensitive (+18), in which case it arrives blurred: the recipient reveals it by tapping (unless they have blurring switched off in their settings).
View-once photos also expire by time: past their window they show as photo expired.
Why view-once is the default for faces
Because that is the photo that identifies you. On a +18 platform, an image of your face circulating out of context is the worst possible harm, and it is not reversible.
Plainly: no app can prevent a screenshot. View-once shortens the window and makes the agreement explicit; it does not replace trusting whoever is on the other side. Send to people you trust, and treat the platform’s reputation for what it is: information about that trust.
Private gallery
Under Gallery you have your own space: photos end-to-end encrypted, for you alone.
- Upload photo to store one.
- From a chat, «From your gallery» to send one you already have, without re-uploading.
- Delete whenever you want.
Useful for having a dynamic’s material ready without leaving it in your phone’s camera roll.
Automatic moderation
Every uploaded photo goes through automatic content classification before publication:
- Explicit material is blocked where it does not belong.
- Borderline material sits «Under review».
It is an image analysis service: it does not train AI on your photos, does not store your IP and does not keep images beyond the period stated in the privacy policy.

Why are photos with a face seen only once?

Can the other person save the photo?
